Following the excursion into banging house territory with last week’s episode (do check it out if you’ve yet to hear it), we’re now back on familiar ground. This week’s Retro House Mixtape is a tasty selection of funky house tinged with some wicked disco licks. There’s also a little nod to the late James Ingram to round things off by the way of a remix from the always reliable Grant Nelson. Also worth checking out is Blaxxtraxx by Mr. Spring, a tune I’ve not listened to in a long while, it features the most sublime funky horn sample.
