Also worthy of note is the first appearance on the show of legendary producer Rennie Pilgrem with his disco banger ‘Some Place Funky’.

Retro House Mixtape – Episode 40

Dropping some strong vocal tunes in this week’s episode of Retro House Mixtape starting off with ‘Sandman’, the classy follow-up to the 90’s favourite ‘Remember Me’ by Blueboy. After that there is a BIG ‘Keep On Jumpin’ remix from the Rhythm Masters, not their all-time classic dub mix but a just as good vocal remix. Also worthy of a listen is the classic C&C remix of ‘Message of Love’ by Lovehappy.

Things get a little deeper in the second half with a great remix of ‘Garbage’ by Roger Sanchez before dropping into a funky re-work of ‘Rocking Music’ from Martin Solveig.

Retro House Mixtape – Episode 28

Once again it’s another episode of Retro House Mixtape all poised and ready to drop those weekend vibes into your earholes. This week it starts on a vocal-led U.S. Garage vibe before shifting up a gear into some stomping disco bangers. Over the last few weeks I’ve made some excellent re-discoveries of some long forgotten tracks and a couple of them feature here. There is the disco-breakbeat stylings of DJ Tonka who is remixing ‘Give It Up’ by K-Klass. Plus the house music legends Pete Heller and Terry Farley appear in their ‘Roach Motel’ guise to drop ‘Wild Luv’, a UK take on the New York house style from the early 90’s.
