Once again we venture into a mix of lovely old house music.

Listen on Mixcloud

I tend to do a little bit of planning ahead when it comes to making these episodes. I like to have some kind of a theme or direction in place before I make a start. For this episode however it was a case of “sod it, let’s just bung together a bunch of tunes that I like”. And that’s exactly what we have here.

A good few big names on this episode. A favourite of mine is the Futureshock remix of “Music : Response” by The Chemical Brothers.

This weeks mixtape starts off with a slower tempo than usual before diving into an uplifting slice of soulful house. As per Episode 1 there is another little exclusive thrown into the mix in the form of a ‘Incognito / Royksopp’ mash-up that works really well in the summer. Going into the final stretch it gets a little anthem-tastic plus there’s a lesser known gem from Fire Island (aka Heller and Farley) where they remix “Don’t Bring Me Down” by Spirits.

As always, don’t forget to follow Retro House Mixtape on Twitter , Facebook and Mixcloud and share this episode with anyone who you think may dig it. The Instagram account is also doing gangbusters considering it’s only just a couple of weeks old. Go check it out!
