Retro House Mixtape is on the cusp of hitting episode 20 but before we get to that there is this week’s episode to contend with. It’s another 60 minute DJ set where Daft Punk finally make their debut on the show. I actually have a really tasty remix of another Daft Punk track but I’m saving that for a later show. Josh Wink also rocks up (in the guise of Size 9) and delivers one of house music’s all time classic breakdown/drum-roll combos.

I have to say, my own personal favourite from this week’s mix is ‘Music Is My Way Of Life’ by Lab Rats. It has such a funky bounce to it. Arguably I’m bending the ‘Retro House’ rule by including Deeptrak’s ‘Ron Hall’ bootleg but seeing as it mashes a couple of old tunes together I figured I could squeeze it in.

Tracklist:

  1. The Reese Project – The Colour Of Love (Underground Resistance Club Mix)
  2. Deeptrak – Ron’s Lost In Music
  3. Juliet Roberts – I Want You (Grant Nelson’s 95 Revival Mix)
  4. Santé – Homegirl (feat. Lorenzo Hall)
  5. Supercar – Tonite
  6. The Big Bird Cage – Steal-O
  7. Lab Rats presents The Experiment – Music Is My Way Of Life (Lab Rats Mix)
  8. Kristine Blond – Love Shy (Rhythm Masters Vocal Mix)
  9. Todd Terry – Can You Party (Steve Mac Mix)
  10. Size 9 – I’m Ready (Remix Version)
  11. X-Press 2 – The Sound (Nush Pizza X-Press Remix)
  12. Daft Punk – Aerodynamic (Nicky Romero Bootleg)
