Aaaaaaand here it is. The final episode of Retro House Mixtape for 2019. Last year I did an extended ‘Big Fat End of 2018‘ episode and for this year it’s another bumper set of bangers from years gone by that will fire up any Festive/New Years party that you might be having. There are also a few new tunes I’ve picked up along the way this year and some exclusive accapella mash-ups that you won’t hear anywhere else (check out the tracklisting below).

In other news, Retro House Mixtape is taking a little hiatus for a few months. Yep, after 76 weekly episodes I decided that the end of 2019 was a good time to take a short break from doing the show.

Some quick nods before I go; A big shout out to the team at beach-radio.co.uk, thanks for making me part of the team in 2019. It’s been awesome putting a show together every week for the station. Cheers to the guys at OMG and to everyone on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook who has supported the show. I have battled through sickness to bring you this episode so I hope you dang well enjoy it! Actually, it wasn’t that bad. I was running at about 60% compared to usual but I still managed to turn out a new jingle at the top of the episode. Nice eh? Get used to hearing that, it only took me 58 episodes to get it done.

Here’s another 60 minute set of awesome old skool house music to kick off your Bank Holiday Weekend. This is a club set that spans from the 90’s to the early 00’s kicking off with a funky start before moving into a funky electro feel and then finishing with a big anthem. Favourites of mine this week include a Rhythm Masters double whammy with remixes of ‘Let’s Groove’ and ‘Been A Long Time’. The legendary Ashley Beedle also drops by with a remix of ‘Magic’ by ‘D’Influence’.

I felt like going for a VERY funky house mix this week so there are a lot of vocal licks and disco kicks going on in this episode. Opening with an all time favourite remix of mine, the excellent Dimitri from Paris sprinkling his magic touch all over Stetsasonic’s ‘Talkin’ All That Jazz’. Retro House Mixtape – Episode 32

It’s sometimes funny how these episodes come about. A lot of the time it’s as simple as thinking of that first track and building from there. I had this opening track by Eve Gallagher pencilled in as an opener for weeks now with the intention of building it into a melodic, clubby set that climaxed with some big epic tunes. Instead this set starts off on that same clubby vibe but by the end it steers into a more ‘ravey’ direction but hey, it works for me so that’s all good.
