]]> Retro House Mixtape is two years old! Two whole years since I first came up with the idea for the show. How the time flies! Thanks to everyone who has been along for the ride and shown their support during this time. This week’s show is a slightly extended episode with some up-for it tunes. I particularly liked dropping two all time favourites track of mine at the end, ‘Be As One’ by Sasha and ‘The Gift’ by Way Out West. The acappella drop of ‘Finally’ over the last track was also an enjoyable improvised moment.

Tracklisting:

 1. Silicone Soul – Right On! – 12″ Disco Edit
 2. Soulsearcher – Cant Get Enough [Milldyke Refix]
 3. Sessomatto – Movin’ On
 4. Simon Grey – The Galactica Suite (4tothefloor Mix)
 5. Bobby D’Ambrosio – Moment Of My Life (M&S Epic Klub Mix)
 6. Röyksopp – Poor Leno (Silicone Soul’s Hypno House Dub)
 7. Hoxton Whores vs. U2 – Lemon (Remix)
 8. The Fog – Been A Long Time (Rhythm Masters Main Mix)
 9. Steve ‘Silk’ Hurley – Jack Your Body (Hardfloor Remix)
 10. Nick K – Don’t Lie (Original Mix)
 11. Sandy Rivera & Rae – Hide U (Sandy Rivera’s Club Mix)
 12. Sasha & Maria – Be As One
 13. Way Out West – The Gift (Club Mix)
 14. Kings Of Tomorrow – Finally (Acapella)

After last weeks mix of garage rhythms and big fat basslines it seemed like a good idea to follow it with a different vibe. I guess you could call this mix ‘progressive’, it’s very synth-based and melodic with a fair few vocal tracks to boot. The opening track by The Beloved is a long time favourite of mine, the backing vocals are so good on that track. There’s also a rare U2 remix in there by house music legends Pete Heller and Terry Farley that is bursting with juicy old school house vibes.

Tracklist:

1. The Beloved – Ease The Pressure (Surge)
2. Kristine W – Feel What You Want (Greenlight Vocal)
3. Eve Gallagher – You Can Have It All (Ramp Club Mix)
4. Sebastian Leger – Hypnotised
5. Empire of the Sun – We Are The People (Crazy P Remix UK Edit)
6. 4Tune 500 – Dancing In The Dark
7. U2 – Salome (Zooromancer Remix)
8. DJ Rolando – Jaguar (Space Motion Remix)
9. Pauline Taylor – Constantly Waiting (Rollo & Sister Bliss Epic Mix)
10. Disco Citizens – Footprint (Sonic Mix)
11. Members of Mayday – Sonic Empire (Jan Driver Mix)
12. Anthony White – Love Me Tonight (Way Out West Remix)

Huge thanks to everyone who checks out the mix week in, week out and to those who follow Retro House Mixtape on Instagram and Mixcloud. Don’t forget to share this week’s episode with any other lovely people out there who love a bit of house music.
