Yeah I missed putting out an episode last week. Sorry about that. Hopefully this banger of an episode makes up for it.

Listen on Mixcloud

I’ve gone for a lower tempo for this episode. starting at around the 120bpm range where things have little more of a disco feel to them. There’s a favourite tune of mine early in the mix, “Number 1” by Playgroup. I very much recommend checking out the excellent music video that goes with the song. Finishing off the mix is a big hands-in-air anthem “U Sure Do” from Strike. Almost verging into cheese really, but this remix is something I used to play out a lot at the time and I think it sits nicely at the end of this episode.

In other news, Retro House Mixtape is taking a little hiatus for a few months. Yep, after 76 weekly episodes I decided that the end of 2019 was a good time to take a short break from doing the show.

Some quick nods before I go; A big shout out to the team at beach-radio.co.uk, thanks for making me part of the team in 2019. It’s been awesome putting a show together every week for the station. Cheers to the guys at OMG and to everyone on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook who has supported the show. I’ve got some other posts planned for over the festive season so make sure you follow my social media accounts in order to catch them.

Right! I’m off to do a house move (that’s not a dancing term, I’m literally moving house hence the need for a break) I will see you on the other side. Big thanks for dropping by the blog. I very much hope you have a Merry Christmas and an awesome New Year. Cheers!

The post Episode 73 – Cracking Old Skool House Set appeared first on Retro House Mixtape.

This weeks mixtape starts off with a slower tempo than usual before diving into an uplifting slice of soulful house. As per Episode 1 there is another little exclusive thrown into the mix in the form of a ‘Incognito / Royksopp’ mash-up that works really well in the summer. Going into the final stretch it gets a little anthem-tastic plus there’s a lesser known gem from Fire Island (aka Heller and Farley) where they remix “Don’t Bring Me Down” by Spirits.

As always, don’t forget to follow Retro House Mixtape on Twitter , Facebook and Mixcloud and share this episode with anyone who you think may dig it. The Instagram account is also doing gangbusters considering it’s only just a couple of weeks old. Go check it out!
